  • Swiss chard Fordhook Giant, family of Chenopodiaceae, is a hardy herb fine flavored, biennial but grown as an annual for its large dark green leaves, crisp, with wide white ribs on white juicy stems.  We consume the leaf blade (green part) and petioles (chard and ribs). Swiss chard Fordhook Giant is a derived form of beet with a very long harvest period, it grows 50 to 60cm (22 to 27in) tall. The crops are abundant throughout the season, 25 days for young shoots and 50-60 days for a full maturity. This very vigorous variety offers both high yield and good disease resistance. Such as beets, chard demand a fresh and deep well loosened and smoked ground. It requires regular watering.

  • The Swiss chard Large white ribbed is a very nice and good variety, with large broad leaves, very wavy, semi-erect, remarkable by the size of the petioles and ribs. The white card Bette is a little less rustic than the ordinary variety; but it is much more productive, and cards are of better quality, very delicate, with a slightly tart flavor. Moreover, in this variety, the same leaf blade can be used, such as the common Bette, like the sorrel leaves.
